  BROWNIE RECIPE Fudgey Brownie Recipe


A recipe for fudgey brownies that has been passed on for generations.

Ingredients
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup boiling water
2 cups white granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup + 1/3 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon iodized salt

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Using a mixing spoon, stir cocoa powder and baking soda in the large mixing bowl. Blend in 1/3 cup vegetable oil. Add boiling water; stir until thick and colour is uniform. Stir in sugar, eggs, and remaining 1/3 cup vegetable oil. Stir until smooth.
  • In a medium bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add to the cocoa mixture and stir until combined. Add vanilla extract.
  • Pour the brownie batter into a lightly greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies emerges clean, with no uncooked batter on it.
  • Place and cool the baking pan, then cut into squares and serve.
