BROWNIE RECIPES
Low Fat Vegan Brownies

An excellent low-fat brownie recipe, especially for vegans.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons non-hydrogenated vegan margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups brown sugar
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree or pumpkin pie filling
3/4 cup applesauce
1/3 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a medium bowl sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Microwave the margarine in a small bowl until melted. Let cool.
- Mix margarine and sugar in a large bowl.
- Add applesauce and mix.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and pumpkin.
- Add flour mixture to the large bowl and mix. Stir in chocolate chips (optional).
- Grease a 8X8 baking pan with cooking spray and pour in batter.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and removed clean.
